Vilkovir's Curriculum Vitae
The talented painter Irina Efimovna Vilkovir (1913-1985) studied at the Moscow Art School (1926-28) and at the VKHUTEIN (Russian state art and technical school) under Goroshchenko and Mor (1928-31). Her works had been exhibited since 1936. Personal exhibitions held in 1937, 1945, 1956, 1970. Vilkovir traveled a lot around the country, including Central Asia and the Caucasus. Her works portrayed the beauty of ordinary people of a huge country and its nature.
Irina Vilkovir's paintings are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the Chuvash State Art Museum (ChGKhM fund), in the Savitsky Uzbek State Museum of Arts, at the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis, US. Works by Vilkovir are also held in private collections in Russia, Europe and the US.
